Yangon was founded by King Alaungpaya on the little sea port called Dagon in 1755. He changed its name to Yangon, which means "End of Strife" .The name Yangon was anglicized as Rangoon by the British when they conquered the whole Myanmar in 1885, it became the capital City of Myanmar. The Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon is one of the most famous and interesting places to visit in Myanmar.

In November 2016, Inspiration Myanmar will do the logistics for The Spice Road Classic, a Vintage Car discovery rally through the countries of Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar.
In November 2018, will be the return of The Burma Road Classic, in its 3rd Edition.
